cloth指的是布料、布匹，其複數形為 cloths。特別注意：clothes 並不是它的複數喔！
My grandma cut off two meters of cloth from the dark red roll.（我祖母從那深紅色布捲剪下兩米長的布。）
clothes和clothing皆為衣服，兩者間很大的不同在於clothes只有複數形式，而clothing為不可數名詞，只能搭配單數動詞表示。clothing的意思較為廣泛，中文是衣著；clothes則較具體指某件特定的衣服。
I like the clothes you wear today.（我喜歡你今天穿的衣服。）
Jack is wondering on what websites he can sell his second-hand sports clothing with a goodprice.（Jack 在想有在哪些網站上可以將他的二手運動衣賣個好價錢。）
clothe和clothes長得極為相似，若是小編前面沒有提醒大家clothes恆為複數的話，很容易一不小心大家可能就會誤以為clothes是clothe的複數。但其實clothe是個動詞，其意思為「穿上衣服」。
The young couple could barely feed and clothe five children.（那對年輕的夫婦幾乎無法負擔五個孩子的生活花費。）

●contact lenses 隱形眼鏡
●scissors 剪刀
●headphones 耳機
●clippers 指甲剪
●goggles 蛙鏡
1.加上 -es 後，glasses為眼鏡之意，若單只有 glass，則意思則不相同，指的是「玻璃」。
2.scissors為複數時是剪刀，但若除去 s 則做為動詞使用，意思為「剪」。
I need scissors to scissor.（我需要剪刀來剪東西。）

●savings 存款
●lyrics 歌詞
商品（goods） 、存款（savings）或歌詞（lyrics）這些詞一定得加上 s 。
My mom loves these hand-made goods.（我媽愛死這些手做產品。）
After years of hard work and penny pinching, the young couple now have quite some savingsand no longer have to tighten their belt.（經過多年努力工作及攢錢度日，這對年輕夫婦終於有了一筆不錯的存款且不再需要勒緊褲帶過日子。）
The secret to his excellent ability in English is listening to English pop songs and learningvocabulary from the lyrics.（他英文這麼好的秘訣就是聽英文歌，從歌詞中學新單字。）
集合名詞
●police 警察
●progeny 後代
●people 人
●cattle 牛群
●vermin 害蟲
●personnel 人員
●poultry 家禽
以上這些單字屬於「集合名詞」的範疇，集合名詞為用來指稱人、事、物的「全體」名詞，欲強調群體中每個個體時，便是以「複數動詞」表示。在英式英文中，以單數或複數表達並無太大差異，而美式英文則偏好使用單數動詞。
police 到底該用單數還複數表達？
※補充：
1.過去習慣 police視為複數，但隨著時間推移，如今也漸漸出現以單數形式使用police的用法。因此下次若是你看到人家說"The police has already arrested him."可別感到太意外！
2.大部分的集合名詞用單數或複數動詞表示皆可，但其中people屬例外，只能有複數用法。people一旦加上s則為「不同民族」的意思。
His research mainly targets on the countries and the peoples in East Africa.（他的主要研究目標為東非的國家及其民族。）
3.欲表達cattle的數量時要用量詞a head of，複數字尾s/es加在量詞上。a head of cattle 是不是很像我們中文說的「一『頭』牛」！
4.「the + 形容詞」也可視為代表全體的集合名詞，例如the rich指的就是富人們，the dead為死者們，這一類的名詞只能搭配複數動詞使用。
In the professor’s opinion, the rich are supposed to help the poor.（那位教授認為富人本該幫助窮人。）
